The Illume (SHAREit) software was successfully updated the evening of Wednesday February 18th, 2026 by the vendor Auto-Graphics including bug fixes [1] and enhancement/improvement requests!

Enhancements/improvements include:

  • Duplicate Request: Borrower staff can now easily duplicate an existing completed request via the "Request Again" button! For more information check-out our new FAQ here: https://illumebc.ca/faq-request-again [2]

This can be used to save staff time quickly re-creating requests, including all patron details, if there was an issue with the original request. Please note that permanent Patron accounts (eg. via NCIP) can use this feature directly but Guest patrons currently must have Staff create their duplicate requests which will not include Guest ILL Tracking.

  • Multi-Row Form Fields: Form fields containing multiple rows, such as ISBN, ISSN, Article Date, Article Information (Volume, Issue, Pages) and Publisher (Place, Name, Date) were updated in November to "stack" for improved mobile display. After hearing feedback from multiple libraries about the confusing display, Auto-Graphics has adjusted the fields to once again display on one row.

Please let us know if you'd like any assistance updating the "tooltips" or Field display for any form fields under ILL Admin > Configuration > Configure Request Forms (video guide here [3]). For example to update "Article Date" to say "Article Date (Year, Month, Day)" instead.

  • Lending Policy: BC libraries have long requested that the option (removed in 2019) to designate Formats in their Lending Policy based on Request Type (Loan versus Copy) be added back in. This feature was the top customer-voted Enhancement in 2023/24 and has now returned to the SHAREit software. Please contact us if you'd like any assistance updating your automatic system Lender Policy [4]!

Bug/Issue fixes include:

  • Borrower/Lender Request Status Refresh: When staff updated a request's status (eg. to Shipped) from the ILL Admin “Borrower Requests” or “Lender Requests” sections, the new status did not display until Staff completely exit and re-opened these sections. This has been corrected now and the updated statuses should immediately display.

  • Patron Notices Bug: When the Participant Record setting for “Patron Message” was set to “Disable”, administrators could not customize or save any other patron email notices (eg. Pending or Cancelled). This has now been fixed and libraries that use Patron Notices [video guide here [5]] may want to double-check that all their notices are still set-up correctly.

  • Diacritic Issues: When requests were placed on records without a standard identifier, lenders were not successfully matched during the ERTI smart-build lender build process if a diacritic was present in the title, author, and/or publisher. And when there was a match, diacritics did not print as expected on bookstraps and shipping labels. This issue will be corrected in this software update for SHAREit requests and will be corrected for ISO requests in an upcoming release.
  • Please also check-out our updated V6 Known Bugs or Issues page [1] for further information on reported ongoing issues.

Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns or encounter any re-occurring or new issues after this software update.. or if there's anything Illume we can help you with! ~Illume Support
