SHAREit Software Update September 2026

The Illume (SHAREit) software was successfully updated the morning of Monday September 21st, 2026 by the vendor Auto-Graphics including bug fixes and enhancement/improvement requests!

Enhancements/improvements include:

• My Library Owns enhancement: Multiple BC libraries requested expansion of the "My Library Owns" feature on union database records. Previously this indicator only displayed if Staff or Patrons clicked on the Full Record details. Now display indicators will show on Search Results in both the Gallery & List views. This was the #2 most voted for improvement by all customers last year!
  
  
  
  Staff and Patrons can now quickly & easily see at a glance whether their library owns an item without navigating down to the full record view. This option can be activated under your ILL Admin > Participant Record > Owned by My Library: Show Owned By This Library Notification Message setting.
   
• Request Manager improvements: Included in our May 27th software update was a re-design of the ILL Admin > Request Manager and the addition of configuration options. For more information check-out our guide here.
  
  Based on customer feedback, Auto-Graphics has made additional updates to improve the font size and visibility of notes and usability. They have also added new quick Search options -- Staff can now click the Borrower or Lender headers to quickly open the Borrower Requests and Lender Requests browse options. Thank you to libraries that sent feedback for the vendor on this updated feature!
   
• Multi-Row Form Fields Improvements: In our May 27th software update, the Form fields that contained multiple rows such as ISBN, ISSN, Article Date, Article Information (Volume, Issue, Pages) and Publisher (Place, Name, Date), were restored to one row from the previous November 2025 "stack" multiple rows option. Based on customer feedback, Auto-Graphics has continued to improve these fields by adding placeholder text in all unfilled fields to as tooltips to help staff and patrons input the required information.
  
  Please let us know if you'd like any assistance updating the "tooltips" or Field display for any form fields under ILL Admin > Configuration > Configure Request Forms (video guide here). For example to update "Article Date" to say "Article Date (Year, Month, Day)" instead.
   
• Mandatory Patron Fields improvement: Libraries have long requested the ability to make "hard-coded mandatory" Patron fields like "Patron Last Name" and "Patron Contact 1" (used for email or telephone) as optional fields instead. And Library SuperUsers (Admins) can now update their ILL Admin > Configuration > Configure Request Forms (Video Guide here) to remove the "mandatory" designation or delete the fields altogether if they're not needed.
  
  Please Note: If your library uses Patron-initiated requesting the Patron Last Name and/or Patron First Name fields may be required for the Guest ILL Tracking feature. Want to re-purpose these fields to collect other information instead? Just contact us for assistance!
   
• Trash Can "Delete" Icon Improvements: The recently updated Borrower Requests and Lender Requests browse options will now display a "trashcan" icon next to requests marked for midnight Deletion. The request record will also display a note stating: Request Number 562 has been scheduled for deletion. Previously this information could only be seen within the Request Manager or Full Details of a request.
   

• ISO Note Field improvement: Borrower and Lender Notes sent by Alma ISO libraries (SFU & UVic) were previously hidden in the History Information and staff were not alerted when they were added. Auto-Graphics has now added a dedicated "ISO Note" field on requests with these libraries to display any notes. ILL requests with new ISO notes will be placed into a temporary Request Manager status until the request is opened so the note is viewed. 

Bug/Issue fixes include:

• Libraries in the Where To Find It section of the Full Record display now sort alphabetically by name again instead of by Library Code.
