[ILL Requests] Starting with our February 18th 2026 software update, Staff can now easily duplicate an existing Loan or Copy completed request via the "Request Again" button!
Why would I use this?
Sometimes a request has gone to Complete due to issues or errors but the Patron still needs the item or needs it again. Previously Staff had to manully re-create a request from scratch when errors occurred and often manually update the ERTI lender list smart-build to target specific lenders (eg. if a lender has already shipped an item but the request is at Complete).
How do Staff duplicate the request?
- While logged in as Staff, search the Completed borrower requests or by request number for your desired request to duplicate.
- View the Full Details of the request.
- Scroll down to locate the "Status Options" field and next to the "Complete" status designation there will be a "Request Again" button. Clicking the button will open a new request with all the request details pre-copied or duplicated.

- Staff can submit the request as is or edit any details before clicking Submit!
- A new request will be generated and available in Awaiting Approval (for libraries with mediated Staff requesting) or go directly to Borrower > Pending (for libraries with Staff automatic approval).
Can Patrons also duplicate their requests?
Patrons at libraries with permanent Patron accounts (eg. via NCIP) also have the option under My Account > Your Items: Items From Other Libraries under the Completed tab to "Request Again". But temporary Guest patrons cannot currently duplicate their requests and any Staff duplicated requests (even if originally created by a guest patron) will not include their Guest ILL Tracking information.
