Illume NCIP Workflow Demonstration (Online): October 23rd (11am-12pm PT)

Thursday, October 23, 2025 - 11:00am to 12:00pm

The Illume Administrative Support Centre, with the assistance of Prince George Public Library (BPG), is offering an information & demonstration session for public libraries interested in learning about NCIP set-up!

The NCIP workflow is used to automate multiple staff processes against your Integrated Library System/Software (eg. SirsiDynix Symphony) including patron authentication via permanent patron accountsitem holds, and brief record creation. For more information please check-out our NCIP generic workflow here [PDF] or contact us for further assistance. The NCIP functionality available will depend on your ILS system and available options, as your ILS system may not support all messaging.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Have an understanding of the NCIP requesting workflow for both Staff and Patrons. Please note that Patron-initiated ILL requesting is optional with NCIP.

  • A review of technical requirements and features available per ILS system (eg. Polaris).

  • See a demonstration from our first pilot library Prince George Public Library (BPG)! PGPL has been successfully using NCIP since the beginning of 2025.

  • Time for questions!
